STEVE
MAY is a Bible teacher whose sermon notes and teaching materials are
used by pastors throughout the world.
After pastoring churches in Oklahoma,
California, and Tennessee, in 1994 Steve began
devoting his full-time attention to developing
preaching resources for pastors. He has since
served thousands of pastors through his books,
newsletters, and seminars. And now, his newest
material is available online at About Sunday.
Steve is author of eight books, all of them
collections of sermons and sermon illustrations.
He has also written hundreds of articles for
pastors and ministry leaders, working in recent
years with Christianity Today.
The main focus of Steve's ministry is serving pastors: providing them with
resources to help them develop sermons that strengthen believers and draw those
'on the periphery' into a deeply committed walk with Christ.
He says, "The ministry of the local church isn't just 'about Sunday' -- we are
called to be missionaries to our community seven days a week. But Sunday
morning, or whenever we gather for worship, remains a top priority for effective
churches. It is our solemn responsibility to offer worship services that help
people make a lasting connection with Christ."
When it comes to preaching, Steve says, "The sermon will never lose its power.
Nothing will ever surpass the impact of teaching the life-changing principles of
Scripture in a straight-forward manner. Good preaching is still the greatest
tool for church growth, and the greatest tool for building disciples."
Steve is the editor and publisher of About Sunday. He has hundreds of sermons
available here; each week he adds at least one more sermon, plus new
illustrations and one minute messages.
Each week Steve's
Monday Memo is sent via email to over 10,000 subscribers. |
